AI Mat

We are excited to officially announce the launch of AI Mat*, a new reading group dedicated to discuss research at the intersection of machine learning and materials science!

This reading group will combine presentations of relevant papers by Mila members, as well as occasional talks by invited speakers. We aim to cover machine learning research for materials discovery, such as predictive models for material properties, machine learning interatomic potentials (MLIP), geometric machine learning, generative models of crystals, active learning for scientific discovery, as well as research in physics, chemistry and materials science relevant for the machine learning community. Therefore, this reading group strives to create an interdisciplinary space for discussion and learning.

The reading group will take place biweekly on Wednesdays, at 2 pm, in room J09 at Mila (unless otherwise specified), and remotely via Zoom.

The AI Mat Reading Group follows the Berlin Code of Conduct.

* The name AI Mat (discussing AI for Materials research on a mat!) was inspired by RL Sofa, another reading group at Mila focusing on reinforcement learning. 🙂
